It is a factory fill at Porsche, AMG, and Corvette. Some blame needs to be placed on GM when timing chains fail, something that should last the life of the vehicle. But it is approved for MB, Audi, VW, Porsche--if that doesn't smell like politics, what does?My apologies for another oil thread, but been reading through many old oil threads and now dizzy.I have used Mobil 1 synthetic for years with no issues.John I never said I thought M1 ruined my enclave, just that I thought it being a superior lubricant the poor chains would have still fared better than 35k which it what others were getting out of them with conventional oils. Some blame needs to be placed on GM when timing chains fail, something that should last the life of the vehicle. Current website, shows Stingray, and verbiage is 2015. It's fascinating that most Enclave owners feel M1 is inadequate for an Enclave. It's still the recommended oil for Corvette but GM doesn't think highly enough of it to use it in ALL Vettes any more.
That has long been Lexus' position through the 2000's, when asked why they charge $130 and use Dino juice. It's a very good oil and I guess I logged at least 150k -200k with it and no issues.the 3.6 is hard on oil and I'm just basing it on the tests people have done plus I blew my timing chains with just 35K on the enclave using M1.Note that it says factory fill for 2015 C7 with the Z51 Performance Package.
That leaves the vast majority of 2015 Vettes that have Dexos as their factory fill.
